These are some very early drafts for the National Museum of American History's 2016-2017 "America Participates" theme. The initial idea was to mix the old and the new while including different ways we can participate in America while exemplifying different ways participation has made a difference. For example, the women's suffrage movement. These three ideas were created for the map kiosks and wall posters inside the museum.

These are some more drafts from the process of designing banners for the Smithsonian. They come fairly late in the process and were more of an exercise than serious contenders for the finished product but they've got a certain something that keeps bringing me back to them.
