America Participates
Type of design: logo, identity design, branding.
For the overall project description, see the America Participates page.
One challenge in developing the logo was that the phrase "America Participates" is abstract and difficult to represent with a single symbol. The logo had to be generic enough to work on both street pylons and artifact tags in exhibits. Museum executives also expected it to exemplify the sense of unity brought about by civic engagement at a single glance. The solution is a typographical treatment enclosed by a circle, which conveys the themes of unity and common purpose.
