Veterans Crisis Line Campaign
Type of design: Print, digital, marketing.
The Veterans Crisis Line is a number for service members who may be in need of mental health support.
Project Overview:

I wanted to create a campaign that draws from existing veteran support organizations so that they look like different arms of a single entity. This design combines the Show Your Stripes campaign, which encourages businesses to hire veterans, with the Wounded Warrior Project, whose motto is "You are not forgotten."

Concept:

Combined, the two campaigns are a reminder that the invisible damage to mental health is equally important to address as physical injury. The service ribbons are fictitious because no engagement is more important than another. When placed around the public places of a city, like a subway or bus stop, it would be easy for viewers to inconspicuously save the number for later use in private.

Alternative Campaign Design:
This alternative design features common symptoms of PTSD and shows the stars arranged like an American flag is hung when there is a crisis. This design also emphasizes a person's agency, which often feels lost or diminished when someone is struggling with mental health.
